During the hot summer, your cat might become more lethargic, less interested in playing or moving around, and might even pant to cool down, although this is rare. Here are 8 simple tips to help your furry friend stay comfortable during the scorching summer!

1️⃣ 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲
- Hydration is key to cooling down! Place multiple bowls of fresh, cool water around your home, and you can even add some ice cubes to keep the water refreshing.

2️⃣ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀
- Use curtains, blinds, or even cardboard boxes to create shaded areas where your cat can escape from the sun.

3️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗹𝘀
- Place cool mats or damp towels in your cat's favorite spots. You can even put the towel in the fridge for a while before giving it to your cat.

4️⃣ 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘀
- Moving air helps cool the environment. Set up fans to improve air circulation. Ensure the fans are placed safely out of your cat’s reach and don’t blow air directly at them.

5️⃣ 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀
- Fill water bottles and freeze them. Wrap the frozen bottles in towels and place them near your cat’s resting area to help cool the space, allowing your cat to snuggle up to them and create a cool, shaded area.

6️⃣ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴
- Regularly groom your cat to remove excess fur and reduce the heat-trapping effect of mats. For long-haired cats, consider trimming their fur during summer.

7️⃣ 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲
- Avoid the hottest parts of the day (10 AM to 4 PM) and keep your cat indoors as much as possible. If they insist on going outside, ensure they have a shady spot to retreat to.

8️⃣ 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱
- If your cat doesn’t drink much water, consider providing wet cat food during the summer, as it offers additional moisture compared to dry food.
