There are a few steps you can take to keep your dog cool in the summer and avoid heat stroke! 🙌🏻
#1 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱.
Water accounts for around 60% of a dog's body weight. In general, dogs require roughly 1 ounce of water for every 1 pound of body weight. Give them frozen fruits such as apples, watermelon, and blueberries are also helpful. 🍎🍉🫐
#2 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿
To keep your puppy cool, arrange his or her exercise during the least hot period of the day. This will most likely occur in the morning and evening. 🐶
#3 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿.
Even if only for a few seconds, a heated car can be quite deadly for dogs. It's unsafe to leave your dog alone in the car!
